Chocolate Martini

Chocolate Martini

Chocolate Martini-029

There’s a restaurant in DC that’s near and dear to my heart because it’s where we went for my bachelorette party AND because they specialize in all things chocolate. They have THE best chocolate inspired cocktails and desserts and call themselves a ‘Chocolate Lounge & Boutique.’ Need I say more? I’m actually surprised it’s taken us this long to make a creamy after dinner cocktail in the spirit of Coco Sala. I had a few requirements for this cocktail which is that it could not just taste like too sweet chocolate milk. I wanted it to have a bite while being creamy and ‘dessert-like’ and this definitely surpassed my expectations! We used a mix of Creme de Cacao, Vanilla Vodka, and Godiva Chocolate for a decadent drink that is perfect for special occasions or anytime you want to turn your home into a Chocolate Lounge.

Chocolate Martini:

Modified from this recipe.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 ounce (Godiva) chocolate liqueur
1 1/2 ounce vanilla vodka
1 1/2 ounce creme de cacao
1 1/2 ounce half-and-half

Directions:

1. Combine all ingredients in cocktail shaker, add ice, and shake.

2. Pour into Martini glass and enjoy!

Limoncello is a cordial that I saw on every restaurant menu when I was in Rome…a ‘digestivo’ intendedContinue Reading

While Nathan was busy with his vermouth, olives, gin and vodka I was being industrious with my cranberry juice, lime juice, and Triple Sec. I guess that’s why the Cosmo has gottenContinue Reading

S.O.S. (Cream Chipped Beef) and a Bloody Mary

S.O.S. (Cream Chipped Beef) and a Bloody Mary

Three days ago I had no idea what creamed chipped beef was. When Nathan mentioned that we should make it for the blog I had an image of a greasy, sloppy, and unhealthy brunch creation closely related to spam or scrapple. However, like the good wife I am, I kept an open mind and suggestContinue Reading
