Apple Pie Martini

Apple Pie Martini

Apple Pie Martini 1

For the past couple weeks, Nathan and I have been trying to think of a pie that we want to post on Rampant Cuisine before Thanksgiving. We couldn’t think of one that we really wanted to try and so the pie idea gradually and naturally morphed into a pie drink idea (are you surprised!?). I was skeptical that a cocktail could really taste like an apple pie but this one comes surprisingly close and hits all the flavor notes that an apple pie does. It has the tart crispness of an apple mixed with the warmth of cinnamon and butter…topped off with hints of lemon and vanilla. Trust me, it tasted like a drinkable apple pie! If you’re looking for a special drink to top off the Thanksgiving meal, give this one a try and save yourself the work of making an actual pie!

Apple Pie Martini:

1 Ounce Lemon Juice

Moscow Mule

It’s been awhile since we posted a cocktail! This is another creation with a misleading name…the drink is so named only because of the perception of vodka as a Russian product. In reality, the drink was invented in the US in the 1940’s when a spirits distributor and a ginger beer producer got together andContinue Reading

Chocolate Martini

Chocolate Martini

There’s a restaurant in DC that’s near and dear to my heart because it’s where we went for my bachelorette party AND because they specialize in all things chocolate. They have THE best chocolate inspired cocktails and desserts and call themselves a ‘Chocolate Lounge & Boutique.’ Need I say more? I’m actually surprised it’s takenContinue Reading

Homemade Limoncello

Homemade Limoncello

Limoncello is an Italian drink that exemplifies something that I love about Italy…the tradition of lingering over a meal and drawing it out in as many ways as possible while enjoying the company of whoever you’re with. Limoncello is a cordial that I saw on every restaurant menu when I was in Rome…a ‘digestivo’ intendedContinue Reading

The Cosmo

The Cosmo

An unexpected positive side effect of Nathan’s martini experimentations was that it inspired me to create another iconic Vodka based beverage…the classic Cosmo. While Nathan was busy with his vermouth, olives, gin and vodka I was being industrious with my cranberry juice, lime juice, and Triple Sec. I guess that’s why the Cosmo has gottenContinue Reading
