Three Minute Gourmet Meal

Nathan and I have been super busy recently and decided to show you how we don’t sacrifice taste or flavor when we’re short on time.  We are here to tell you that it IS possible to have a gourmet, chef-prepared meal for 2 (complete with wine and beer!) in less than three minutes (and for less than $10!) It gets even better…all the components of this tasty repast are available from your local 7-11. Guys, if you want to impress your lady friend with an almost home cooked meal all you need is a convenience store and a microwave…plates are optional! If you don’t believe us then just let these pictures speak for themselves.

Katryn’s Drink Pairing: Boone’s Farm Strawberry Hill, Flavored Citrus Wine
Rating: 10 out of 10

WOW. That is pretty much the only word that I could utter after my taste buds were rocked by the first slightly bubbly sip of this fine wine. It is lush and perfectly sweet…the sensation of biting into a fresh luscious strawberry while sitting in the sunshine in a field of wildflowers. The light fruitiness of the wine balanced the spice in the beans and the savory burrito gave structure to the effervescent fizz of the Boone’s Farm.

Nathan’s Drink Pairing: Hurricane Malt Liquor
Rating: 10 out of 10

As the bottle suggested that I “brace for the smooth taste” I was fully prepared to be blown away by this “premium malt liquor naturally brewed for a distinctive bold taste.”  Let me tell you, the Hurricane did not fail to deliver!  The ultra distinctive and smooth malt flavors washed down the spicy flavors of the burrito and the savory chips well before I passed out and woke up with a terrible hangover in a stranger’s living room.  The walk of shame back home was well worth experiencing the glory that is the Hurricane.

Happy late April Fools Day everyone!

WOW! Boone’s Farm Strewberry Hill! Are you kidding? I haven’t had that since graduate school at the University of Iowa! I can’t believe it is still around. But really a “10”? I don’t think so. Well, I guess if the “pairing” means perfect for junk food. But nice blog.
