The Classic Margarita

This recipe is so simple and so easy that we almost feel like it’s cheating to post it. Yet, we wouldn’t be doing our job if we didn’t share a recipe of such perfection with our readers. This margarita recipe contains only three ingredients…tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. In the past, we would use a margarita mix but now I wonder why margarita mixes even exist?!? I have a conspiracy theory that margarita mix companies have brainwashed the general public into believing that margaritas are a complex, 12-ingredient endeavor. Not so…we are here to reveal that the margarita takes less than 5 minutes to prepare and is the most refreshing of cocktails for a midsummer evening. Enjoy!

Margaritas for Two:

Ingredients:

6 ounces (4 shots) Tequila
3 ounces (2 shots) fresh squeezed lime juice
3 ounces (2 shots) Triple Sec (or any other orange liqueur)

Directions:

In a cocktail shaker combine all ingredients and shake. Strain into an ice-filled tumbler and garnish with a slice of lime. We don’t prefer salted rims but you can use salt if that’s your thing.
